On September 2, 2025, Rachel Pothier stepped into the role of Marketing & Support Coordinator at Communitas. For Rachel, this new chapter feels like a natural extension of a lifelong connection to the agency and its mission.
Rachel was first introduced to EMARC, now Communitas, through her brother David, who was a proud and active participant in the day program and recreation teams. In 2005, she began assisting with a Music Therapy course, which sparked her involvement with the organization. After graduating from Plymouth State University – where she studied Childhood Education with a minor in Graphic Design and played on the collegiate softball team – she returned to Communitas to instruct “Personal Growth” and “Music & Movement” in the Burlington day program.
Over the years, Rachel has been part of many milestones at Communitas. She experienced the rebranding from EMARC to Communitas in 2018, and in 2020, helped support the transition of the Burlington Life Choices program to Woburn, where she contributed to building the Upward Program. Most recently, she celebrated another personal milestone, completing her degree in Graphic Design & Media Arts from Southern New Hampshire University.
Now, in her role as Marketing & Support Coordinator, Rachel is excited to combine her creative skills with her deep roots in the organization. Her goal is to highlight the incredible work being done across Communitas, support staff and programs, and help share the stories that reflect the heart of the mission: inclusion, opportunity, and community for all.
