Dr. Neal Muni is a life sciences executive with 25 years of experience as an operator, investor, and advisor to biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. His career has spanned industry, healthcare investment banking, the FDA, and clinical care.

Neal currently serves as Managing Director of RTK Group, a biopharmaceutical advisory and investment fund, through which he holds roles as Advisor and Chief Medical Officer of Unravel Biosciences, Advisor and Partner at Romeg Therapeutics, Board Member of BridgeHealth Pharmaceuticals, and Independent Board Director of HDAX Therapeutics.

Prior to RTK Group, Neal served as CEO of Azurity Pharmaceuticals, a commercial-stage company focused on developing therapeutics for patients with high unmet need, including children and the elderly. During his tenure, he led the company to a successful investor exit through a private equity sale following FDA approval of its lead program. Before Azurity, he served as Head of Corporate Strategy at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, as an engagement manager at healthcare investment bank Leerink Swann, and as a Medical Officer in the FDA’s Division of Cardiovascular Devices.

Neal holds faculty appointments at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where he continues to practice inpatient medicine and teach medical residents and students several weeks per year as a staff Hospitalist. He also mentors the next generation of biotech entrepreneurs through Harvard’s Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering, MassBio’s Drive Accelerator Program, and the University of Toronto’s Creative Destruction Lab. Neal also serves on the Board of Trustees of Winchester Hospital, an affiliate of Beth Israel Lahey Health.

Neal received his MD and Master of Science in Public Health (biostatistics) from Tulane University School of Medicine, and a BA in Business Economics and B.Sc. in Biochemistry from Brown University.
