Kathy began her career in human services in 1994, spending nine years in the field of child welfare before joining Communitas in 2003 as a Residential Services Program Coordinator. During her time in Residential Services, she managed five community-based residential homes and played a key role in the formal development of what is now Communitas’ Independent Home Supports program.

As Director of Quality Enhancement, Kathy partners with programs across the agency to develop, implement, and evaluate quality enhancement tools that strengthen service delivery. She serves as the primary liaison to licensing, certification, and accreditation bodies, and oversees program compliance and training initiatives. Kathy has guided the agency through numerous DDS and CARF surveys and currently coordinates the Policy Committee. She is also an active member of the Employee Appreciation Committee.

In her role as Human Rights Coordinator, Kathy works closely with individuals, families, programs, and the Human Rights Committee to uphold Communitas’ commitment to person-centered supports. Her work focuses on ensuring that people’s rights are honored, their choices are respected, and their voices are heard.

In December 2025, Kathy was appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer by the Communitas Board of Directors. In this role, she provides continuity of leadership while advancing the agency’s mission, values, and strategic priorities.
