Amanda holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development from Wheelock College and a Master of Social Work from Boston College. This educational foundation has allowed her to work with a wide range of populations across diverse settings including higher education, residential care, hospitals, and outpatient treatment.
Her career began as an outpatient therapist at South Bay Community Services in Dorchester, serving children, adults, and families in the surrounding communities. She then transitioned to MAB Community Services as a clinician, supporting adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI)/Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) living in group homes. Amanda also expanded her experience by working as a telehealth therapist with college students, supporting them as they navigated the challenges of school, relationships, and entering adulthood during the COVID-19 pandemic. She then returned to outpatient care at Boston Medical Center, where she specialized in utilizing both person-centered and evidence-based modalities for adults with disabilities and adults diagnosed with ADHD, while also leading initiatives to improve safety assessments and documentation.
Joining Communitas marked an exciting return to human services as the agency’s first Director of Clinical Services. Amanda’s focus is on developing and delivering clinical training for staff while providing ongoing support and clinical consultation across Residential, Day Services, and Family Support divisions.
