Originally from Wales in the UK, Neil Wyatt attained his degree in Counseling at The University of Wales College Newport (U.W.C.N). Neil has 35 years of experience working in nonprofit organizations that have supported a wide spectrum of individuals from diverse settings and multicultural backgrounds. His previous works include senior positions in schools and residential settings as well as with young offenders and homeless folk, assisting them with community resettlement.
Neil also worked for an Emergency Intervention Service, supporting families in behavioral crisis, and as a therapist working with abused children in state care. Neil is a licensed member of the British Association of Counselors (BAC)
Neil has spent most of his career supporting both children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities, as well as autism. He began working for Communitas in 2010. Neil oversees three day programs; providing Day Habilitation care, Career Services and oversight of the agency’s Transportation Department. As part of the Communitas senior management team, Neil plays a large role in program development and staff team management.
In previous years, Neil has won several national and state awards including the Association of Development of Disability Provider Award (2003 & 2007) and The American Network of Community Options and Resources for direct professional innovation of creating art initiatives for people with disabilities.
Neil says, “I am a strong advocate towards supporting people with special needs to have a voice and live valued lives. I am committed in the continuation of providing accredited quality services at both Communitas and in Massachusetts.”
