Melissa Forbes is a seasoned Special Education Administrator with over 20 years of experience supporting students, families, and school communities. She is a passionate advocate for inclusive education and is dedicated to ensuring that all students feel a sense of belonging while developing the skills they need for greater independence.
Melissa has held leadership roles in Reading Public Schools, where she has worked with students across grade levels, collaborated closely with families, and supported out-of-district placements. In her role, she has served as a key resource for families and school teams, connecting students with community-based programs such as Communitas to ensure they receive the services and support essential to their growth and success.
Melissa joined the Communitas Board because she believes that empowering and supporting individuals to become more independent enriches their lives and strengthens the community.
Outside of the boardroom, Melissa enjoys kayaking, refinishing furniture, and baking. She values time with her family and deeply appreciates the importance of community and connection.
