Chelsea Wood serves as the Director of Human Resources at Communitas, where she brings more than two decades of experience helping organizations build strong, people-centered cultures. With a career spanning nonprofit human services, healthcare, higher education, and corporate environments, Chelsea is known for fostering collaborative workplaces that empower employees and strengthen mission delivery. She joined Communitas in 2014 and has played an integral role in shaping talent strategy, organizational culture, and employee engagement across the agency.
Chelsea is deeply committed to mission-driven organizations and believes that strong, values-aligned workplaces are essential to meaningful community impact. Her approach centers on supporting staff growth, encouraging collaboration, and ensuring HR practices reflect the organization’s purpose and people.
She holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources from Suffolk University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Susquehanna University, along with professional HR certifications that reflect her dedication to excellence in the field. Passionate about contributing to the greater good, Chelsea is proud to support the Communitas community in its work to empower individuals of all abilities.
Outside of work, Chelsea enjoys spending time with her family and exploring new places with her two dogs.
