Communitas Family Support Services hosted their first Annual Fall Family Festival back in 2003, and this annual event has grown to be a favorite!

Each year the festival features hayrides, cider and donuts, pumpkin painting, cookie decorating, face painting and a balloon artist.  It is held in the event area of Smolak Farms under a beautiful tent.

This year the fall festival was an adventurous outing.  The wind was blowing, the raining was pelting and there was quite a chill in the air.  Family Support staff and 35 family members braved the elements to enjoy the festival.  The hayride was the highpoint of the day, despite the chill and the rain!   As the tractor made its way through the muddy orchard, each turn brought with it a stream of water from the tarp above and an explosion of laughter from those riding in the hay.  Hayride participants bragged about the story they would tell when they returned home.

After the soggy hayride, the group returned to the tent for hot cider and donuts and activities.

To quote Kelly C “It was a lot of fun Sunday.  I even did a hayride”. Cynthia C also had a good time.  Her favorites pumpkin painting, face painting and the hayride.
